“i tried (again)” takes alternative, industrial and emo hip-hop production elements and brings them into the Dream Pop world - perhaps more aptly called Nightmare Pop.
The song was born from my experience of relapsing again and again into self-destructive behaviors, which came to feel like the sole source of my identity.
So when I decided to finish this song after breaking out of that cycle, it was like two edges of a wound coming together to form a scar. A permanent reminder of that pain I had once accepted, but also a testament to the notion that healing is possible
